Didn’t cbc.ca recently have something about that CCP official in Lhasa at the torch relay ceremony mouthing off about Beijing smashing the ’splittist’ schemes of the ‘Dalai Lama clique,’ thus injecting politics in direct contradiction to Beijing’s insistence that the Olympics are essentially a sports event which has no place for politics. There are already free alternatives on the market for many of Microsofts products. Ubuntu is based on an operating system called Debian Linux and is free to anyone for any use. I just heard about this Brian Bates guy from Oklahoma and I have to say, Kudos to you, man! Brian Bates owns and runs johntv.com. Johntv.com is this one guy’s effort to clean up the organized prostitution that has impacted his city dearly. Armed with a camera and a lot of guts, Brian Bates takes to the streets to catch ‘johns’ and the hookers in the act of sexual trafficking. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN for short, has approved to lift restrictions on domain names. Currently, we are only allowed to register certain top-level domains such as .com, .ca, .net, .org, etc. But this new move by ICANN opens the door for many, many, more variations. For those who do not know, the Heisman Memorial Trophy Award is considered the most prestigious college football award. This trophy is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in the college level for that year; the selection is based on a voting point system.
