A Nine year old boy, Tristan Charlton Dunsford, was found dead in Little Grand Rapids First Nation, located about 300 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Second degree murder charges have been laid on a 16 year old boy from the same reserve. 1100 band members live on that reserve and, in such a small community, I am sure all of them are being affected in some way by this tragic story. In Randolph, Vermont, a memorial took place for the community after the body of one of their own was found. 12 year old, Brooke Bennett, was found on Wednesday, July 1st. near her uncle’s house. Brooke Bennett had gone missing since last Wednesday; last seen with her uncle at a convenience store. A teenage mother who left her newborn in the woods in Montreal has been sentenced to 18 months in detention and another 9 in probation. The teenager, who was 16 at the time of occurrence, pleaded guilty to manslaughter; a step down from the second-degree murder charges. Was this a slap on the wrist or good justice?
