President George Bush has signed a $162B war spending bill. The money is to be used to fund the ongoing fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. “This bill shows the American people that even in an election year, Republicans and Democrats can come together to stand behind our troops and their families.”, Bush says. The massive earthquake that devastated China and left almost 70,000 people dead has also opened the public’s eye to the current building standards of the country. Many of the buildings should not have tumbled over so quickly. And, this includes many schools. I was disciplined by my parents with a smack on the bum (sometimes higher) and I think I turned just fine. In fact, a lot of my law-abiding, self-reliant friends were disciplined as a youngster as well. I think that discipline in a household is absolutely necessary in order to raise a child into a mature and respectable citizen to society. Apparently, the liberal government in Canada thinks otherwise and they are trying to pass a bill that threatens to charge parents who use physical punishment to discipline their children. Upon filming his latest flick in China, John Woo’s set for ‘The Battle of Red Cliff’ suffered a serious fire which resulted in 6 crewmen injured and, unfortunately, the death of one of his stuntmen. These are the types of risks that these stunt crew take which make me give them nothing but utter respect. They put their lives on the line in an attempt to simply entertain us.
