In Randolph, Vermont, a memorial took place for the community after the body of one of their own was found. 12 year old, Brooke Bennett, was found on Wednesday, July 1st. near her uncle’s house. Brooke Bennett had gone missing since last Wednesday; last seen with her uncle at a convenience store. As if her death were not enough to take, there is talk that this murder may well have been part of a sex ring in which her uncle took part in.

Brooke Bennett’s uncle, Michael Jacques, has been in police custody since Sunday on charges of sexual assault which involves another underage girl. He is now, also being charged with kidnapping and, from the looks of it, eventually the murder of Brooke Bennett. Michael Jacques is not new to the justice system. In 1993, he was convicted of sexual assault and kidnapping. He is also a registered sex offender in Vermont.

A 14 year old girl has come forward stating that she had been part of this sex ring for 5 years. At the age of 9 she was approached to enter the sex ring under the impression that this was all in service of the President of the United States. She had to perform the sex acts to prove her worth. It is said that 3 other adult males had participated. This would have been Brooke Bennett’s future.

About 300 people showed up for Brooke Bennett’s memorial to show their support. Among the mourners were family members who have been through a missing child case. It is a sad day for Randolph, Vermont and I am sure that the whole country mourns for Brooke Bennett and her family.
